For the 50th anniversary of StarTrek, Leonard Nimoy's reserves a huge surprise to the series' fans : a film about the mythic character Mr Spock, played by his father for almost 40 years.

On the official website, Adam Nimoy explains that everything started two years ago, approching Thanksgiving. He was with his father and talked with him anout the possibility of producing a documentary-film on the story of Spock. According to him, the captain, while being a big symbol for the series, is a deep and complex protagonist, with an uncommon story. That's how he got the idea of creating a film with his father, drawing the fate of this hero. Plus, it was essential to take up this challenge before the 50th anniversary of the show, and the anniversary of The Cage (the series pilot), in order to celebrate this half-century of existence by a new masterpiece.

In July 2015, they created their project, in association with Kickstarter.com (a participative financial enterprise which helps to release films, and videos, since 2009). They hit all this website records, becoming the most popular kickstarter project ($600 000 earned in a month !). Since that day, the film has been progressively produced and its release is booked for september 2016.

Indeed, the masterpiece promises a great story, about Mr Spock but also his great actor Leonard Nimoy, with an incredible casting : William Shatner (who was the honor guest at Montreal ComicCon), J.J. Abrams, George Takei (Lt Hikaru Sulu in StarTrek), Nichelle Nichols (Cmdr. Uhura in Star Trek), Neil de Grasse Tyson (Brainstorm in StarGate : Atlantis), Simon Pegg (Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in Star Trek into Darkness), etc.

At San Diego ComicCon, the Adam Nimoy's team has revealed the very first trailer of the film, and we already long to watch it !
