On June 21st, if you are in Washington, I invite you to visit the ephemeral bar devoted to Game of Thrones to sip some beers in the colors of the series.
Derek Brown and Angie Fetherston of the Drink Company will customize the Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency and Eat The Rich from Washington in King's Landing for two months from June 21 to August 27, 2017 on the occasion of the release of the highly anticipated Season 7 of Game of Thrones whose first episode will air on July 16th. This will be the opportunity for the organizers to make a special evening dedicated to this evening.
The Eat The Rich bar will be transformed into a Red Keep and will display the banners of the various houses in the HBO series. Visitors will be allowed to photograph themselves in front of the cross of the scorched Bolton and to visit the throne room in which the iron throne will be present.
Southern Efficiency will become the Hall of Face in which the followers of the multifaceted God meet. It will be possible to see various faces of friends and neighbors of the community of Derek Brown and Angie Fetherston cast in plaster.
As for Mockingbird Hill, it will become the home of the North. The two back rooms that populated the bar will be transformed into the city of Meereen in which will find a painting and a giant sculpture of dragon coming from the ceiling.
The card will also play the game of thrones
But the different bars used for the occasion will not be the only ones to be transformed since the card of the drinks will also play the game turning into alcohol worthy of Game of Thrones and its characters. The designers imagined the drink Tyrion Lannister drinks and is called the Imp's Delight, a mixture of two types of wine. A tequila drink called Shame will recall the expiation of Cersei while a Sherry Mai Tai with salt is named Dracarys in tribute to Daenerys Targaryen.
Glassware will also adapt to the universe imagined by George R.R. Martin since drinks like The North Remember, a Scotch in pina colada will be served in a horn and another drink called The Lady Mormont will be served in glass representing a bear. The various drinks will cost on average between 13 and 15 $.
The employees will be disguised for the occasion and the creators of this bar also invite visitors to come in disguise. No food will be served on site to prevent the service from slowing down, and no episode of the series will be broadcast in the bars, as the surrounding noise would prevent the comforter from enjoying the show.
I invite you if you are passing this summer in Washington to go for a walk in its bars, but a tip, do not marry there, weeding always end badly in Game of Thrones.
