Review of Game of Thrones 7x01: Winter is finally coming!
After a year and a half of waiting, here is finally the first episode of season 7 of Game of Thrones which announces great change. Criticism of this episode.
Here we are finally in the last straight of the series after seven years of good and loyal services that will have shed a lot of ink and scream many fans around the world. Thanks to the talent of storyteller George R.R. Martin, we marveled, moved, enervated by watching the adventures of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister and more generally watching the battles of the families Stark, Targaryen, Lannister and Bolton. But everything that began must end and here is the end of the series.
As we left Season 6 with the destructive takeover of Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow on the North and Daenerys departure for Westeros, this season is the direct result of the events that ensue, thus bringing the entire continent In two major battles: the one for the Iron Throne and the one for survival against the White Walkers.
It is therefore with immense pleasure that one finds the characters that had been left more than a year ago and that one finally discovers with an ounce of nostalgia the end of their adventures. By knowing the events that are likely to happen and the sadistic pleasure of the screenwriters to take away the characters that are dear to the spectators, a great tension reigns watching this first episode which clearly announces that on the two seasons that it remains, it is to an anthology of battle which we will attend to restore peace to Westeros.
We can learn nothing more about the mythology related to Westeros or the White Walkers at the moment. The final narrative is gradually taking shape in this episode, but by next week everything should change. This is what the last sentence at the end of the episode implies: "What if we start? "
We will have to buckle our belts during its remaining 6 weeks because I think the pace will be intense in this season while waiting for season 8 which should possibly arrive in 2019 to allow time for the writers to write us a final worthy of the name.
- It's a joy to see our favorite / hated heroes
- Winter is coming (finally)
- A gentle start while the number of episodes is reduced
