Since a few months, we learnt that Peter Capaldi, the 12th Doctor, and Steven Moffat, the showrunner, have decided to quit the series. Now, one of the main writers tell us what he thinks about the future Doctor's actor...

During an interview for Digital Spy, Toby Whithouse revelaed his ideal choice for the actor who will play the famous Time Lord. According to him, Damien Molony, one of the Being Human's main actors would make a great Doctor.

“Damien Molony, who was on Being Human, I've always thought he'd be terrific. He's a fantastic actor. My ideal choice would either be Damien or Chiwetel Ejiofor, who I think would be absolutely terrific.”

The irish actor would be one of the favourite choice for the writer, and we could also think that he is one of the main choices for the BBC, as Whithouse must know everything about the future seasons. But we could also say that Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 2012) would make an excellent Doctor too, as he gave us a spectacular interpretation in Doctor Strange, and, more over, it would be the first black actor to play the Gallifreyan.

Whatever it be, doubts and speculations about Peter Capaldi's successor are still open, and we can expect to know the name of our future Doctor in the following weeks.

An irish actor ? A woman ? Apparently, everything is possible, but next Time Lord's actor should be up to it, because he, or she, is long awaited...
