2017: Year of Fear in Video Games ? After a breakout with Resident Evil 7, then Dying: Reborn and waiting for Outlast 2, it's time for Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul to come and haunt your VR Headsets.
As the name suggests, the game is based on the famous found footage that made the success of the genre in the 2000’s and 2010’s. However, it is not a simple adaptation but a new chapter in the format of VR gaming.
Creaky doors, pentagrams, deformed beings and screams are on the agenda of an horrifying title that seems to count as much on its morbid atmosphere as on the inevitable jump scare. As an exploration game, you will have puzzles to solve to know the end of the story.
As often now with this kind of game, videos of frightened players are available on the web as a teaser.
On the other hand, do not expect a simple VR "experience"since the developer, Vrwerx, a Californian company, promises ten to twenty hours of play, with triple AAA graphics !
The game is scheduled for March 14 next on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
